STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 113 TO BE ANSWERED ON 04.03.2010 REGARDING FIRE AT IOC FUEL DEPOT AT JAIPUR

(a) to (c): The inquiry committee set up by this Ministry under the chairmanship of Shri M.B. Lal, Technical Member (Petroleum & Natural Gas), Appellate Tribunal for Electricity and Ex-Chairman & Managing Director of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to probe the incident of fire at IOC oil depot in Jaipur has submitted its report on 29.1.2010. The report has been put in the public domain and is available on the website of Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD) “http://oisd.nic.in”. The Committee, in its report, has determined the causes and critical factors responsible for this incident and has recommended short term as well as long term measures for preventing such incidents. The report of the Committee is under consideration of the Government.
