(a) whether the Ministry of Railways is going to consider starting a new Jalpaiguri-Patna Shatabadi Express with stoppage at Kishanganj to reduce the travel time and distance between Jalpaiguri and Patna; and

(a) & (b) Presently, 10 pairs of train services are adequately catering to the need of New Jalpaiguri and Patna area. Besides, there is no immediate proposal for introduction of Shatabadi Express between New Jalpaiguri and Patna. However, introduction of trains is an on-going process on Indian Railways, which inter alia depends on operational feasibility, commercial viability, and resource availability.
