(a) whether the Government has planned to open 6,000 Jan Aushadhi Stores (JASs) in various States of the country;
(b) if so, the details of JASs opened in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh;
(c) the details of medicines made available in JASs;
(d) whether such medicines are regularly available in those stores; and
(e) the details of difference in the price of medicines available in JASs as compared to open market?
(a) As on 27.11.2019, 5816 Janaushadhi Kendras are functional across the country. The plan is to open 1000 new Janaushadhi Kendras in FY 2019-20. It is also planned to cover all the districts of the country by end of the FY 2019-20. Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) has covered 689 districts out of 725 districts of the country.
(b) As on 27.11.2019, there are 12 Janaushadhi Kendras functional in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. The details of the Janaushadhi Kendras functional in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh is enclosed as Annexure-I.
(c) The Product basket of BPPI comprises 802 drugs and 155 surgicals.
(d) Presently, 667 drugs and 56 surgicals are available for sale at Janaushadhi Kendras. Information Technology (IT) enabled End-to-End supply chain system with Point-of-Sale (POS) application for value-added services have been implemented in PMBJP. At present, BPPI has four modern warehouses at Gurugram, Bengaluru, Guwahati and Chennai for storage and distribution of drugs. Drugs are made available to all Kendras across the country from these warehouses.
(e) The Price list of PMBJP medicines and surgicals along with their average market price is enclosed as Annexure-II.
