Question : VACANT POSTS IN MCD NDMC



(a) the total number of teaching posts lying vacant in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) schools along with the details of vacant posts filled up separately, during each of the last three years; and

(b) the steps taken/proposed to be taken to fill up the remaining vacant posts?

(a): As per the information provided by the Directorate of Local Bodies, Government of NCT of Delhi, the total number of vacant posts of teachers in the three Delhi Municipal Corporations is as under:

The details of the vacant posts of Teachers filled up by the unified Municipal Corporation of Delhi during the last three years are as under:

As per the information provided by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), 42 posts of Assistant Teachers, 82 posts of Trained Graduate Teachers and 18 posts of Post Graduate Teachers are vacant in the NDMC Schools. In the Navyug Schools, 76 posts of Teachers are vacant. No post of Nursery Teacher and Assistant Teacher was filled up in the NDMC Schools during the last three years. The posts of TGTs and PGTs in the NDMC Schools filled up during the last three years are as under:

The Navyug School Educational Society filled up 149 posts of Teachers in 2009. No recruitment was made in the years 2010 and 2011.

(b): Filling up of vacant posts is a continuous process. However, the concerned authorities have taken steps to fill up the vacant posts of Teachers, which include taking up the matter with the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) for filling up the vacant posts under direct recruitment quota; convening Departmental Promotion Committee to fill up the vacant posts meant for Departmental candidates; and engaging Teachers on contract basis temporarily.
