Question : Training to Urban Poor

WILL the MINISTER OF HOUSING AND URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION be pleased to state:-

(a) the total number of urban poor trained under National Urban Livelihood Mission in Uttar Pradesh; and

(B) the details of livelihood training accorded to the youth and the benefits accrued as a result thereof?

(a):This Ministry is implementing “Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM)” to reduce poverty and vulnerability of urban poor households by enabling them to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities for improvement in their livelihoods on a sustainable basis. Since 2014-15, under “Employment Through Skill Training & Placement (EST&P)” component of DAY-NULM, 37140 persons have been provided skill training in Uttar Pradesh.

(b): Training under DAY-NULM in Uttar Pradesh has been provided in various sectors like beauty culture & hair dressing, garments making, information and communication technology, fashion designing etc. Training has been provided to urban poor to enhance their capacity for self-employment and salaried employment.
