(a) & (b): Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs launched Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) [PMAY (U)] on 25.06.2015 to provide assistance to States/Union Territories (UTs) for addressing the housing requirements of the slum dwellers and other eligible persons in urban areas through following four verticals:
(i) “In-Situ” Slum Redevelopment (ISSR);
(ii) Credit-Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS);
(iii) Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP); and
(iv) Beneficiary-led individual house construction or enhancement (BLC).
Based on the project proposals received from the State of Rajasthan, total 2,18,826 houses have been sanctioned with Central Assistance of ? 3,754.67 crore under the scheme. Details are at Annexure-I.
Since 2018, a total 95,429 houses have been sanctioned in the State; out of which 52,566 houses have been completed. Central Assistance of ?1611.90 crore has been approved; of which ? 847.43 crore have been released to the State.
(c): Yes, Sir. City-wise details of slums in the State of Rajasthan as per Census 2011, are at Annexure-II.
(d): ‘Land’ and ‘Colonisation’ are State subjects. Addressing the housing requirement of urban poor including rehabilitation of slum dwellers comes under the purview of State Government.
In pursuance of the Government’s vision of “Housing for All” by 2022, this Ministry is implementing PMAY(U) and has been pursuing the States/UTs to meet the housing requirement of all urban poor including rehabilitation of slum dwellers. ISSR vertical of the Scheme mandates for providing pucca houses to slum dwellers using land as a resource.
