(a) whether the recently concluded Delhi meet of the Foreign Ministers of Russia, China and India decided to have a Tripartite Business meet this year;

(b) if so, the details of areas on which discussions were held; and

(c) the follow-up actions taken by the Government in this regard?

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS (SHRI PRANAB MUKHERJEE)

(a) Yes. The Foreign Ministers of India, Russia and China agreed that a trilateral business forum would be held in India during 2007.

(b) The three sides discussed trilateral economic cooperation in areas such as energy, transport infrastructure, health, information technology and bio-technology. They also exchanged views on the global situation, regional developments of common concern, counter- terrorism and anti-narco trafficking efforts.

(c) The Government of India is consulting with the Russian and Chinese authorities regarding dates for the trilateral business forum and seminar on emerging geo-strategic trends.
