(a) whether the Government proposes to launch a National Film Heritage Mission (NFHM) in the country;

(b) if so, the objectives thereof;

(c) the funds allocated for the purpose; and

(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. National Film Heritage Mission (NFHM) is aimed at preserving the rich heritage of Indian cinema. This project seeks to preserve films produced over 100 years in India for posterity. The objective of the Scheme is to provide comprehensive platform and solution for cataloging, digitalization, digital restoration, conservation, dissemination and monetization of film content, video tapes, posters and other related material, which is India’s film heritage.

(c) & (d): A total outlay of Rs.291.0 crore has been earmarked for launching and implementing this Scheme in the 12th Five Year Plan (2012-17).
