(a) whether the production of Mulberry Silk has increased in the country during the last three years;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details of export of Mulberry Silk in the country during the last three years and the current year;

(d) the amount of funds allocated by the Government for the development of Mulberry Silk in the North Eastern Region including Tripura during the last three years; and

(e) the other steps taken by the Government to promote sericulture including Mulberry Silk in NER?

(e): Ministry of Textiles, Government of India through Central Silk Board has taken following steps to promote sericulture including mulberry silk in NER states:

(i) North East Region Textile Promotion Scheme (NERTPS): Under NERTPS 38 Sericulture projects are being implemented in the identified potential districts of all North Eastern States under four broad categories viz., Integrated Sericulture Development Project (ISDP), Intensive Bivoltine Sericulture Development Project (IBSDP), Eri Spun Silk Mills (ESSM) and Development of Sericulture in Aspirational Districts (AD) with a total projects cost of Rs.1,107.90 crore, of which GoI share is Rs.956.01 crore.

(ii) Implemented a Central Sector Scheme “Silk Samagra” an Integrated Scheme for overall Development of Silk Industry in the Country including NER during 2017-21 period. The scheme is under EFC appraisal for continuation during 2021-26.
