(a) whether the Government of Maharashtra had submitted a project under National Project for Cattle and Buffalo Breeding (NPCBB) to the Union Government for their approval in October 2001; and
(b) if so, the action taken so far by the Government in this regard?

(a)&(b) Yes, Sir. A proposal for implementation of the National Project for Cattle and Buffalo Breeding in Maharashtra was received. However, Notification on constitution of the State Implementing Agency for the Project and utilisation Certificate in respect of the funds provided under National Bull Production Programme, which are a pre-requisite to the appraisal of the proposal are still awaited from the State Government.
