Question : NOMADIC TRIBES

(a) whether the Government have taken any steps to identify pockets of nomadic tribes in the country particular in Tamil Nadu;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details of schemes for these underprivileged sections of the society; and

(d) the steps taken by the Government to track their movement from one location to another so that benefits are made available to them irrespective of change of their location?

(b) Does not arise.

(c)&(d) There is no scheme exclusively for nomadic tribes. However, wherever they have been specified as Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, they are entitled to the benefits available to these categories.
