Question : Budget Allocation under NRDWP

(a) the budget allocation made under the National Rural Drinking Water Programme during each of the last five years, State-wise;
(b) the details and budget allocation made under the said programme for villages in Ajmer district of Rajasthan and the details of the works under taken along with the number of beneficiaries of this programme during the said period;
(c) whether the Government proposes to sanction any special package under the said programme to provide relief to the people suffering from kyphosis disease developing due to drinking water having fluoride, Nitrate etc. and saline water affecting bones and teeth in rural areas of Ajmer, Jaipur and Tonk districts of Rajasthan; and
(d) if so, the time by which the same is likely to be sanctioned?

(a) The State-wise fund allocated under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) during the last five years is annexed.
(b)District wise allocation is not made by the Department. However, as reported, the details of Central fund made available by the State under the NRDWP to Ajmer district of Rajasthan during the last five years are as follows:

As reported, as on 04.12.2019, a total 2,935 schemes covering 10.69 lakh population have been completed and 6 schemes are on-going under erstwhile NRDWP in Ajmer district of Rajasthan.
(c) & (d) NRDWP has now been restructured and subsumed into Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) which aims at enabling every rural household to have a Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) for providing potable water at service level of 55 litre per capita per day (lpcd) by 2024.Under JJM, fund is allocated based on approved criteria under which 10% weightage is assigned to population residing in habitations affected by chemical contaminants including Fluoride to prioritize the coverage of water quality in States/ UTs including Rajasthan.
