Question : Promotion of Tourism

(a) whether the Government is planning to formulate a policy to promote tourism by railways across the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise;
(c) the details of the funds likely to be sanctioned for this along with the target likely to be set up;
(d) the time by which it is likely to be formulated; and
(e) whether the Government has tied up with the Ministry of Tourism in this regard and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (e): Policy to promote tourism through various tourism products has been in place. However, an exercise has been initiated to formulate a comprehensive revised tourism policy by March, 2018, in consultation with all stakeholders including Ministry of Tourism.
