(a) whether the Government propose to set up Agro based industries in backward and drought prone areas of various States, particularly in Rajasthan;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the number of industries to be set up during the next three years, year-wise; and
(d) the allocation of funds for setting up Agro based industries during the next three years, year-wise?

(a) & (b): Rural Entrepreneurs from any part of the country including backward drought prone areas are free to prepare project proposals under the Khadi and Village Industries Commission`s Margin Money Scheme and approach the branch of any Nationalised Bank in their localities or offices of State KVI Board for assistance. The KVIC does not set up units of its own.
(c) & (d): In view of the reply above the details cannot be ascertained in advance.
