Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINSTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI KRISHANPAL GURJAR)

(a) to (c) The proposal for six laning of Ahmedabad-Bamanbore Section of NH-8A from Km 22/600 to 182/600 at a cost of Rs. 800 crore was received from Government of Gujarat. However, the proposal was returned unapproved keeping in view the fact that Ministry as a policy had decided for six laning of existing National Highways, having eligible traffic volume to be implemented on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. The Government has envisaged instant proposal under NHDP Phase-IV under Design Build Finance Operate Transfer (DBFOT) mode to be implemented by NHAI. Consultant has been engaged for carrying out Feasibility Study. On completion of Feasibility Study, process of award to the BOT Concessionaire would be initiated. Beside this, proposals for six laning from Km 13/500 to 26/200 and km 0/00 to 6/00 on NH-8C at a cost of Rs. 97.74 crore and Rs. 24.88 crore respectively were also received and the same is under consideration under Annual Plan 2014-15. Since work is yet not awarded, as such it is too early to indicate the likely date of completion.

(d) & (e) Proposal for development of fly over at Sanand and Uwarsad Junction on NH 8C is under consideration under Annual Plan 2014-15.
