Question : NSIC SCHEMES IN ASSAM



(a): the number of schemes launched by NSIC in Assam particularly in Darang district;

(b): whether the NSIC has assessed the impact of buyer-seller meet;

(a): In the State of Assam, the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), implements all its seven schemes/programmes, to provide assistance and support for marketing, training, credit etc., to small scale industries (SSI). Approximately, 4597 beneficiaries in the small scale sector in Assam and 85 beneficiaries in Darrang District have been assisted under the above-mentioned schemes/programmes during the five year period 2000-2005.

(b): 21 SSI units in Assam have become vendors to Public Sector Undertakings and Government Departments as a result of the Buyer- Seller meets, conducted by the NSIC.

(c): No, Sir.
