STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) to (d) OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION No. 144 FOR 03.12.2014
(a): The procedure laid down for handling of complaints under the Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers (PIDPI) resolution by the Chief Vigilance Officers of the Ministries/ Departments as contained in Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT)’s OM No. 371/4/2013-AVD-III circulated on 16.06.2014 is placed at Annexure-A.
(b): The Central Vigilance Commission was authorized as the “Designated Authority” to receive written complaints or disclosures or any allegation of corruption through PIDPI resolution dated 21.4.2004. Recently, the Government has also authorized the Chief Vigilance Officers of the Ministries/ Departments of the Central Government as the Designated Authority to receive such complaints. The details of investigations made into the complaints received under PIDPI resolution, and outcome thereof, during the last three years and the current year, Ministry/Department-wise, as reported by Central Vigilance Commission is placed at Annexure-B and B-I respectively.
(c) & (d): The details of complaints under PIDPI resolution from informers regarding disclosure of their identity during the last three years and the current year, Ministry/ Department-wise, as reported by Central Vigilance Commission is placed at Annexure-C.
