Question : NEW AIR LINKS FOR JET AIRWAYS



(a) whether JET Airways has offered flights containing 24,000 seats capacity daily to cater to summer rush;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the sectors on which air links are proposed to be provided by the JET Airways; and

(d) the time by which the offer of JET Airways likely to be cleared by the Government?

THE MINISTER OF CIVIL AVIATION (SHRI SHARAD YADAV)

(a) and (b): M/s Jet Airways with its present 25 Boeing 737s and 4 ATR-72-500 aircraft provides on an average, 23,300 seats daily. After the 5th ATR-72-500 aircraft to be inducted in its fleet shortly, the airlines would offer around 24,000 seats daily.

(c) and (d): M/s Jet Airways has provided the following new links w.e.f. April, 2000:

- Bangalore-Cochin-Bangalore
- Bangalore-Goa-Bangalore
- Bangalore-Coimbatore-Bangalore
- Bangalore-Mumbai-Bangalore (additional frequency)
- Mumbai-Mangalore-Mumbai
The following services would be operated after the induction of 5th ATR-72-500 aircraft:
- Chennai-Hyderabad-Vishakapatnam-Hyderabad-Chennai
- Chennai-Bangalore-Chennai (additional frequency)
- Hyderabad-Tirupati-Hyderabad

These flight schedules have already been approved by the DGCA.
