Question : ROB RUB

(a) whether the construction of road over bridge (ROB) at railway crossing number 32 ‘C’ between Dalsingh Sarai and Naziraganj in District Samastipur in Bihar has been approved but not yet started and if so, the reasons therefor;

(b) whether the Railways have received any representations from the public representatives for developing the Vadala and Patel stations terminals and repair foot over bridges at these stations and if so, the details of action taken thereon;

(c) the details of proposals for construction of railway over bridges/foot over bridges on Dastan railway crossing at Surat-Badali road in Surat, Gujarat, Nalhate Junction in West Bengal, Tonk and Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan and Buxer and Chausa stations in Bihar; and

(d) whether the Railways are aware of the fact that the local people are facing problems due to water logging in railway under bridges and if so, the steps taken/ to be taken by the Railways to clear the water logging problem?

(a): The work of construction of Road Over Bridge (ROB) in lieu of Level Crossing (LC) 32-C between Dalsingh Sarai and Nazirganj stations has been sanctioned on cost-sharing basis in the year 2012-13. State Government has been requested to clear the General Arrangement Drawing (GAD) to enable Railway to start the work.

(b): There are no stations by the names Vadala and Patel on Indian Railways. However, Vadala Road in Central Railway and Vadala Granthian station in Northern Railway exist but no such representation was received for developing the same. Repair work of Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at Vadala Road station has been carried out during the current year.

Road Over Bridges (ROBs):

Dastan Railway Crossing: Work of construction of ROB in lieu of LC 17-A, (Dastan Crossing) at km 18/6-7 on Udhna-Jalgaon section has been sanctioned on cost-sharing basis with State Government during 2013-14.

Nalhati: Work of construction of ROB in lieu of LC 27/Spl at Nalhati– Rampurhat has been sanctioned on cost-sharing basis with State Government.

Tonk: ROB in lieu of LC-35 X (Tonk Railway Crossing) at km 62/0-1 is located on National Highway and the work is required to be executed by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Sawai Madhopur Station: No proposal for construction of ROB at Sawai Madhopur has been received from State Government.

Buxar: Work of construction of ROB in lieu of LC 70B (at east side of Buxar station) has been sanctioned. State Government has been requested to clear the General Arrangement Drawing (GAD) to enable Railway to start the work.

Chausa: Work of construction of ROB in lieu of LC 78B (near Chausa station) at km 673/11-13 has been sanctioned. State Government has been requested to clear the General Arrangement Drawing (GAD) to enable Railway to start the work.

Foot Over Bridges (FOBs):

Nalhati Station: A 20 feet wide FOB has been constructed and commissioned at Nalhati railway station.

Sawai Madhopur Station: One FOB already exists and work for second FOB has been sanctioned.

Buxar Station: One outside to outside FOB with connectivity to platform has been sanctioned.

Chausa Station: One FOB is available, which is considered adequate for present volume of passenger traffic.

(d): Drainage works for subways are planned and provided as warranted by the local conditions.
