Question : Flight Operations Inspectors

(a) whether the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has recruited a number of Flight Operations Inspectors (FOIs) to maintain its aviation safety ranking upgraded by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) of the United States;

(b) if so, the details thereof including the total number of FOIs recruited by DGCA;

(c) whether many of these FOIs have resigned in recent months and if so, the reasons therefore along with the likely impact of their resignations; and

(d) whether the rules regarding appointment of FOIs are not clear and if so, the corrective measures taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) and (b): Government has approved creation of 75 posts of Flight Operations Inspectors to ensure Flight Operation Standards. So far 52 FOIs at various levels have been appointed on short-term contract appointment.

(c) One Deputy Cheif Flight Operations Inspector (Airplane) has resigned so far.
