(a) whether Lions are proposed to be shifted in view of epidemic threat in Gir National Park/Junagarh in Gujarat;

(b) if so the details thereof; and

(c) the details of locations identified as ideal habitat for the lions ?

(a), (b) & (c) The Kuno Palpur Wildlife Sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh has been identified as an alternate home for the single isolated population of Asiatic lion in Gir forest of Gujarat. The decision to relocate a few lions to an alternate habitat was based on several considerations including epidemic threat.
