Question : Modernisation of Nasik Airport

(a) the progress made so far in the work of modernisation of Nasik (OZAR) Airport

(b) whether the Government is considering to give international status to Nasik (OZAR) Airport; and

(c) if so, the details thereof and the time by which it is likely to be completed?

(a): Nasik (Ozar) Airport is maintained by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL). As informed by HAL, the Nasik airport was built in collaboration with State Government of Maharashtra with all the modern facilities and no immediate modernisation is envisaged.

(b) & (c): Nasik airport has been declared as a Customs notified airport and it is being operated as international airport for cargo operations. Declaration of an airport as an International airport depends upon the traffic potential and the demand form airlines for operation of international flights besides provision of Ground Lighting Facilities, Instrument Landing System, adequate runway length, Immigration, Health and Animal & Plan Quarantine services.
