(a) whether the ability of a student can be judged by an
examination of three hours duration under the present
education system;
(b) if so, whether CBSE has studied the new education
system evolved by ICSE, a Non-Governmental Organisation;
(c) if so, whether the Government propose to take new
initiatives to adopt the “standard based†education system
instead of marks based system; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): Assessment of performance is an integral part of any
process of learning and teaching. As part of sound
educational strategy, examinations are employed to bring
about qualitative improvements in education.
(b)to(d): As per the information provided by the CBSE, they
are not aware of any new education system evolved by CISCE.
