(a) to (c) : Information has already been furnished on 8.3.2007 in fulfilment of the
assurance given to the Lok Sabha in reply to Unstarred Question No.3170 on 14.12.2006.
However, the same is repeated hereunder:-
85 such cases (transfers 7 and appointments 78) came to the notice of the Railways
during the last one year. The following is the position of these cases:-
# Removed from service : 9
# Dismissed from service : 5
# Compulsorily retired : 1 from service
# Penalty of withholding : 1 of one set of Privilege Pass imposed
# Cases closed after : 10 inquiry
# Cases in which charges : 2 not proved and closure under examination
# Suspended and process : 2 of disciplinary action on
# Disciplinary action : 8 initiated
# Departmental action/ : 20 inquiry on
# Cases under invest- : 12 igation/verification
# Cases under Police : 15 investigation.
Three Railway employees who are allegedly involved in entertaining fake documents are
under suspension. While the role of two of them is still under investigation, one has
been issued chargesheet for imposition of major penalty.
