(a) whether Food Corporation of India has announced issue price for 2001-2002 of wheat to be supplied to roller flour mills in the States;

(b) if so, whether it is for North Zone including Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh only;

(c) if so, the reasons for not extending issue price to Gujarat roller flour mills; and

(d) the time by which this issue price is likely to be made available for West Zone particularly Gujarat?

(a)&(b): Yes, Sir. The prices fixed under the Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic) are applicable to all consumers, State Governments, Co-operatives, Chakkies, including the Roller Flour Mill who can buy wheat under the scheme subject to minimum of 10 M.T. The details of issue prices of wheat fixed under the Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic) for the North Zone including the States of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh during the financial year 2001-2002 is as under:

(c)&(d): The High Level Committee (HLC) of the Food Corporation of India, which has been empowered to fix open sale prices of wheat, for the months of February and March, 2002 have fixed these prices State/U.T.wise after taking into account the acquisition costs and the average freight to the States. The state-wise rates are annexed.
