Question : Assistance by ADB-USAID

(a) whether the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have agreed to assist India in developing clean energy projects:

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether any Memorandum of Understanding has been signed in this regard;

(d) if so, the details thereof and the salient features of this arrangement;

(e) whether ADB and USAID assistance will speed up the setting up of new solar parks in the country: and

(f) if so, the details thereof, State-wise?

(a),(b),(c)&(d): Yes, Madam. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate investments and financing for the development of clean energy infrastructure in India.
(e)&(f): ADB is already assisting by providing loan for development of evacuation and access infrastructure for Renewable Energy. The present MoU between ADB and USAID would provide support to the work related to the development of evacuation and access infrastructure under Solar Park programme.
