(a) whether the basket of medicines being supplied presently through
the Jan Aushadhi outlets is sufficient;
(b) if not, whether the Government proposes to make available more
medicines particularly for the Jan Aushadhi outlets through the small
and medium sector units in the country;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the steps being taken by the Government to enlarge the basket of
medicines supplied to the Jan Aushadhi outlets?

(a) to (d); The basket of medicines presently being supplied through the Jan
Aushadhi Stores are based on local ailments requirements generally demanded
by the public. The Pharma Central Public Sector Undertakings are supplying
the medicines currently. Depending on demand, the medicines are supplied
and the list expanded. Sourcing of medicines through the small and medium
sector units in the country to enlarge the basket of supply to the Jan
Aushadhi Stores will also be explored as and when considered necessary.
