(a) whether the Government have recently taken a decision to discontinue the
news being broadcast in regional languages in National broadcast from
Akashwani Kendra, Delhi;
(b) if so, the reasons therefor;
(c) if so, whether the Government propose to restart the broadcasting of these
regional news bulletins; and
(d) if so, the time by which it is likely to be implemented?

(a), (b), (c) & (d): Prasar Bharati had earlier decided to shift some Indian
language units from Delhi to the respective State capitals. On receipt of
representations against this decision, Prasar Bharati reconsidered the matter
and decided to continue to originate the Indian language news bulletins
from Delhi.
