Question : National Portal for Job-Seekers

(a) whether the Government has set up/proposes to set up a national Portal for job- seekers and if so, the details thereof;

(b) the manner in which this portal helps in reducing demand-supply gap of workforce in facilitating job-seekers and in providing other employment related service;

(c) whether there has been any coordination mechanism between the said portal and the employment exchanges existing in the country; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): National Career Service (NCS) Portal has been developed and is hosted at URL www.ncs.gov.in and accessible to all for availing employment related services. The NCS Portal is supported by Call Centre/ Helpdesk (helpline-1800-425-1514) to assist and guide jobseekers in accessing the employment related services. The NCS Portal has network of delivery channels including employment exchanges. The State Employment Exchanges have access to NCS Portal and its services.

In addition the Common Service Centres (CSCs) set up by Department of Information Technology (DeitY) are linked to the NCS Portal to enhance reach of employment services. The NCS also has a repository of career content for access by all.
