(a) & (b) : Yes, Sir. The Government is implementing a Human Resource Development Programme comprising
post-graduate teaching and training courses in various areas of Biotechnology at different
Universities/Institutions in the country. The post-graduate teaching programmes are at the level of M.Sc.,
M.Tech., Post-Graduate diplomas and one year post MD/MS training courses. So far, the Department has
supported 77 courses in 23 States(Annexure). Post Doctoral training programmes have been supported at 4
institutions (Annexure). As and when proposals are received from various Universities and Institutions, an
expert committee examines them for financial support.
