Question : Places in NER and Haryana Identified as Tourist Sites

(a) the number of places in North Eastern States including Assam and Haryana which have been identified as tourist sites and the number of places for which proposals have been received to be included in the list of tourist sites along with the State-wise details thereof;
(b) the funds allocated by the Government for the development of the said sites during the last three years and the current year;
(c) the project-wise and year-wise details of the funds utilized and remaining out of the funds allocated by the Government; and
(d) the number of projects which have been completed out of the said projects along with the location-wise details thereof?

(a) to (d): Ministry of tourism promotes all tourist spots in the country including Assam, Haryana and North Eastern States through its media campaigns, websites, road shows, social media promotions and Dekho Apna Desh initiative to attract more tourists. Ministry of Tourism also organized a meeting of the tourism & Culture Ministers of the North Eastern States on 13th & 14th September 2021 at Guwahati, Assam to discuss development of tourism and connectivity related issues in the North Eastern Region. An international Tourism Mart was also held at Kohima, Nagaland from 27th to 29th November 2021 to showcase the tourism potential of North Eastern States of India at the international level.

Ministry of Tourism organized the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Webinar Series along with Association of Universities (AIU) under Dekho Apna Desh. The webinar series basically targeted for involving students from different universities. The said episode was based on North Eastern States and the main emphasis was given to the state of Tripura. The important tourist potential like historical tourism, eco-tourism, cultural tourism, ethnic tourism, wildlife tourism, community based tourism and rural tourism nature were touched. The tourist destinations of Tripura those were covered in the session were Unakoti, Chabimura, Jamtui Hills, Naradpara Lake, Neer Mahal, Rudrasagar Lake, Dumbur Lake, Agartala, etc.

In addition, Ministry of Tourism is also focusing on the development of tourism related infrastructure under its schemes of Swadesh Darshan and National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD) which were launched in January 2015. ‘North East Circuits’ has been identified as one of the themes for development under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme.
