(a) the present status of the project of electrification of Rewari-Ahmedabad via Ringas Jn. route along with the details of estimated cost and amount released till date;
(b) the timeline set for completion of the said project; and

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (c) OF UNSTARRED QUESTION NO.489 BY SHRIMATI SANTOSH AHLAWAT AND SHRI SUMEDHANAND SARSWATI TO BE ANSWERED IN LOK SABHA ON 27.04.2016 REGARDING ELECTRIFICATION PROJECT
(a): Electrification of Rewari-Ahmedabad via Ringas Jn. railway line is a part of Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Rewari-Palanpur-Ahmedabad including Kalol-Gandhinagar-Khodiyar and Alwar-Bandikui-Jaipur-Phulera Railway Electrification project (1087 Route Kilometres). The work has been sanctioned at a cost of `1294.84 crore. At the end of March 2016, likely expenditure for this project is `132.90 crore. Further, for 2016-17, `450.01 crore has been provided to this project. Electrification work on Rani-Palanpur section has been entrusted to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and the work of balance section has been entrusted to Central Organization for Railway Electrification (CORE), Allahabad.
(b): Depending upon the overall availability of resources, the targets for commissioning of Railway Electrification projects are fixed on yearly basis.
(c): Electrification of Ringas-Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur- rail line (188 RKM) has been included in Railway Budget 2016-17 at an estimated cost of `163.73 crore subject to obtaining requisite statutory clearances and `1 lakh has been allotted for this work. The project will be taken up as soon as requisite statutory clearances are obtained from NITI Aayog.
