(a) whether the Union Government have recently increased the allocation of foodgrains under Public Distribution System for the people living below poverty line;

(c) the State-wise details of the foodgrains allocated to the people living Below Poverty

(a) & (b): The allocation of food grains for BPL families has been increased from 10 kg
to 20 kg w.e.f. 1 April, 2000 and to 25 kg per family per month from July, 2001.
(c): State-wise details of allocation and lifting of food grains under BPL category during
the last three years is at Annexure.
