Question : Impact of Rashtriya Gokul Mission

(a) the total amount earmarked and allocated under Rashtriya Gokul Mission to various States during the last three years;
(b) the percentage increase/decrease in the number of indigenous breeds of cattle since the introduction of the Mission;
(c) the percentage increase/decrease in the population of exotic and crossbred cattle since the introduction of the Rashtriya Gokul Mission; and
(d) the percentage increase/decrease in the population of milch cows since the introduction of the Mission?

(a) The State wise and year wise funds released under Rashtriya Gokul Mission during the last three and current year is given at Annexure-I.

(b) As per the provisional report of 20th Livestock Census indigenous and nondescript cattle population has declined by 6% from 151.17 million in 2012 to 142.11 million in 2019. However, indigenous and nondescript female cattle population has increased from 89.22 million to 98.17 million that is by 10.03% between the livestock census 2012 and 2019. The indigenous and non descript male population has declined from 61.95 million to 43.94 million that is by 29.07% during the same period.

(c) As per Provisional report of 20th Livestock census the population of exotic and crossbred cattle has increased by 29.3% from 39.73 million in 2012 to 51.36 million in 2019.

(d) As per Provisional report of 20th Livestock census the population of milch cows has increased by 10.45% from 67.54 million in 2012 to 74.59 million 2019.
