(a) whether the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has discussed ways to detect, curb and discover illegal wealth finding its way into educational institutions from schools to colleges across the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the outcome of the discussion; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government to curb use of unaccounted funds in the education sector?

(a) & (b): The matter has been discussed by Special Investigation Team (SIT), constituted by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, in pursuance of the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. The SIT submits reports to Hon’ble Supreme Court from time to time with respect to matters before it.
(c) As per the notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, SIT has been charged with the responsibility of preparing a comprehensive action plan, including the creation of necessary institutional structures that can enable and strengthen the country’s battle against generation of unaccounted monies, and their stashing away in foreign banks or in various forms domestically.
