(a) whether any proposal to set up seed villages for the production of pulse seeds and oil seeds in Rajasthan is under consideration of the Government; and
(b) if so, the details thereof alongwith the manner in which the farmers are likely to be benefited?

(a)&(b) Under National Pulses Development Project and Oilseeds Production Programme (OPP) being implemented in the State of Rajasthan seed village Programme is an important component for the production of quality seeds of Pulses & Oilseeds in the compact area of land in the village. Under this programme an assistance of Rs.500/- per qtl. Is being provided to the States for the production of quality seeds of Pulses & Oilseeds crops with a view to ensure timely availability of seeds and to reduce the handling cost. The component of seed village scheme has been under implementation for a long time.
