Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT & HIGHWAYS SHIPPING AND CHEMICALS & FRTILIZERS

(SHRI MANSUKH L. MANDAVIYA)

(a) & (b): Madam, in order to increase the use efficiency of Urea, the Government of India has specified Neem Coated Urea (NCU) in the Fertilizer Control Order, 1985. The Niterogen use efficiency of NCU is 5-10% higher than the plain urea. Further, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is promoting soil test based balanced application of fertilizers in conjunction with bio fertilizers and organic fertilizers. The Government of India has introduced Soil Health Card (SHC) scheme with an aim to assist all State Governments to evaluate fertility in all farm holding across the country and issue soil health cards to farmers regularly in a cycle of 2 years. Soil Health Card provides information to farmers on nutrient status of their soil along with recommendations on appropriate dosage on nutrients to be applied for improving soil health & its fertility.
