(a) Whether the Government propose to enlarge its Shore for Fishing Vessel
Communication System and extend the project on Living Marine
Resources Enhancement(LMRE) to new areas;
(b) if so the details thereof;
(c) Whether the Government also propose to extend these facilities to Dakshin
Kannada Coastal belt;
(d) Whether the Government have received aid from abroad including
development funding agencies for this purpose; and
(e) if so, the details thereof, project-wise?

(a),(b) & (c) At present there is no proposal to enlarge the Shore to Fishing Vessel
Communication System and the Living Marine Resources Enhancement
project to new areas. In as far as Karnataka coast is concerned, Shore to
Fishing Vessel Communication System has been provided to Malpe and
Honnavar by the Department of Ocean Development, for demonstrating
the technology of communication between the fishing vessel and the
shore, to the fishermen, for ensuring their safety at sea.
