As informed by Municipal Corporation, Udaipur (Rajasthan) and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the point-wise reply is as under:-
(a) Yes Sir, a part of waste water (sewage) are being released into the Ayad river. At present, out of about 57 MLD waste water being generated in Udaipur city, about 12 MLD waste water is going into the Ayad River.
Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) in association with Rajasthan State pollution Control Board (RSPCB) is monitoring water quality of aquatic resources at 196 locations in Rajasthan including Udaisagar Lake under National Water Quality Monitoring Programme. Udaisagar lake is monitored at only one location at Udaipur (at intake point) on monthly basis. Water Quality details of Udaisagar Lake at Udaipur (Intake Point) for the year, 2019 is given below:

Water quality data of Udaisagar Lake reveals that it is not complying the water quality criteria for bathing.
(b) At present, two STPs of 45 MLD capacity (20 MLD +25 MLD) have been commissioned and are functional. Another 2 STPs of capacity 5 and 10 MLD each are nearing completion. While 10 MLD plant is expected to be commissioned in March, 2020, 5 MLD STP will be completed within two months. Further, Rajasthan Infrastructure Development Programme (RUIDP) is laying trunk line on both the sides of the Ayad river and will trap all the identified drains falling into the Ayad river.
(c) The details of allocated funds are given below:-
(i) Rs. 80 crore (under smart city nation) for construction of 3 STPs (25 MLD + 05 MLD + 10 MLD capacity each) in progress;
(ii) Rs. 126 crore for abatement of pollution of Ayad river by laying Trunk line;
(iii) Rs. 25 crore for construction of 20 MLD STP by Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (HZL) as per Memorandum of Understanding (MoU);
(iv) Rs. 33 crore for construction of Trunk line from Lake City mall to Eklingpura STP plant (funded by HZL).
