Question : EXPORT ORIENTED UNITS

(a) whether the Government intend to set up some 100% Export oriented Units in the country during the Tenth Five Year Plan;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the proposals received from State Governments which are under the consideration of the Government State-wise; and

(d) the steps taken by the Government to set up such units particularly in Orissa?

(a) to (d) 100% Export Oriented Units are set up by Private Entrepreneurs/Promoters with the prior approval of Government of India. All proposals received upto 31/3/2002 have been decided by the Competent Authority.
