Question : INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS FROM CALICUT



(a) whether International Flights are being operated from Calicut airport;

(b) if so, whether there is a need to develop the airport;

(c) if so, the details of steps taken in this regard; and

(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): Air India and Indian Airlines are presently operating international flights from Calicut to various destinations in the Gulf region.

(b), (c) & (d): A scheme for expansion and modification of International Terminal Building at Calicut airport and allied works costing Rs. 89.48 crores has been sanctioned, execution of which is likely to commence during the current financial year.
