(a) Water being a state subject the schemes/ projects related to water resources are planned, funded, executed and maintained by the State Governments as per their own resources and priorities. Government of India also implements various water related scheme in Madhya Pradesh. The major new/ ongoing water resources schemes implemented in Madhya Pradesh include Prandhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY), Ken-Betwa Link project under National Perspective Plan for interlinking of rivers, National Hydrology Project, National River Conservation Plan, 6th Minor Irrigation Census, Namami Gange, 15th Finance Commission tied grants, ATAL JAL, Jal Jeevan Mission, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). The sub-components of PMKSY include Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP), Command Area Development and Water Development (CAD&WM), Har Khet Ko Pani (HKKP) etc.
(b) Ministry of Jal Shakti has been implementing “Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain” (JSA:CTR) -2022 campaign during 29.3.2022 to 30.11.2022 to cover all the blocks of all districts (rural as well as urban areas) across the country including Madhya Pradesh mainly focusing on water conservation and rainwater harvesting. Besides, above mentioned schemes are intended to meet the objective of water conservation including rainwater conservation.
(c) & (d): Major Schemes implemented by the Ministry of Jal Shakti which are applicable for rural areas are also implemented at panchayat level. Similarly, the major on-going schemes related to water sector implemented by this Ministry are applicable for the benefit of tribal areas of Khargone-Barwani Parliamentary Constituency as well. Specifically, Indira Sagar Project Canal Phase - I, II & IV are implemented in Khargone and Barwani Districts and Omkareshwar Project Canal Phase - III is implemented in Khargone District.
