(a)&(b): As a part of the Annual Plan, Ministry of Coal/Planning Commission assesses overall sector-wise demand for coal in the country on annual basis. The distribution/supply of coal to the power plants is governed as per the terms & conditions of New Coal Distribution Policy (NCDP) of the Government. Coal is supplied to Power Utility sector in accordance with the terms and conditions laid down under Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA)/ short-term Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) basis.
(c):During the process of formulation of Annual Plan, Ministry of Coal / Planning Commission assesses overall sector-wise demand of the country. Such demand is not assessed State-wise and consumer-wise. The overall demand assessed for power utility sector is 551.60 Million Tonne (MT) against which supply plan from CIL has been finalized as 405 MT during 2014-15.
(d)&(e):The coal despatches from CIL sources have been more than 90% of the supply plan targets fixed as part of Annual Plan. The details of the coal despatches to Power Utilities during the last three years, are as below:-
