Question : Repairing Work on Borigumma-Jeypore NH

(a) whether the repair work on dilapidated stretch from Borigumma to Jeypore on NH-26 has been completed;

(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(c) the details and the present status of land acquisition for Koraput bypass on NH-26;

(d) whether the Government proposes to realign the said project in case of problem in land acquisition and if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the time by which the Koraput bypass project is likely to be completed?

(a)&(b) The work of widening to 2-lane with paved shoulders from Borigumma to Jeypore from km 319/280 to km 345/480 of NH-26 in a length of 26.20 km is in progress with present physical progress of 48%. Repairs have been done in this stretch under the contract of the widening work and the same is in traffic worthy condition.

(c) to (e) Indian Railways raised the issue of shifting of approved alignment of the bypass as the proposed ROW is falling in Railway land. The issue raised by Railways is being verified at site jointly by the Railways and local district administration of Koraput. At present there is no proposal to change the approved alignment. The work of Koraput bypass will be taken up after completion of the land acquisition depending on inter-se priority and availability of resources.
