Question : Completion of Projects under PMKSY

(a) whether various projects earlier funded under Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme have been identified for completion under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) and if so, the details thereof, State-wise;
(b) the proposed deadline for completion of all the above projects;
(c) the present status of all these projects; and
(d) whether the Government proposes to revise the Central Share including the cost of establishment so as to lessen financial burden of the State Governments and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c) During 2016-17, ninety-nine (99) on-going Major/Medium irrigation projects under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) - Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (AIBP), having ultimate irrigation potential of 76.03 lakh ha. and balance estimated cost of Rs.77595 cr. have been prioritized in consultation with States, for completion in phases up to December, 2019 along with their Command Area Development & Water Management (CADWM) works. State-wise details are at Annexure.
States have reported that AIBP works of 31 projects have been completed/almost completed. Further, balance projects are planned to be completed in phases by December, 2019.
(d) Following provisions in respect of central share and State sha
re to be provided to States have been made:
i. 20% cost escalation on latest approved cost (AIBP component) of project as on March, 2012 is allowed for providing central assistance (CA).
ii. States are to pay interest of only 6% on the State share funds availed from NABARD. Any interest over and above 6% is borne by the Central Government.
