(a) whether the Government has conducted any survey for laying new railway line from Anupgarh (Sriganganagar) to Bikaner of Rajasthan;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government proposes to start work on this route in near future;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (e) Yes, Madam. As per survey report, the cost of project of 154.437 km new line was `972.92 crore with negative rate of return of 6.42%. The project could not be taken forward as it was financially not viable, poor traffic potential and Railways has already got a large shelf on ongoing projects.
