(a): No, Madam. The Smart Cities Mission will cover 100 Cities only.
(b): Apart from the 98 potential Smart Cities selected on the basis of recommendations of States/UTs, 11 new cities have also been allowed to participate in the All India City Challenge subject to the condition that the number of Smart Cities declared after various rounds of challenge process will strictly be in terms of allocation made to States/UTs as given in Annexure-2 of the Mission Guidelines which is available on Mission website (www.smartcities.gov.in). The list of 11 new cities is at Annexure-I.
(c): Government of India will provide financial support to the extent of Rs. 48,000 crore over five years i.e. on an average Rs. 100 crore per smart city per year. An equal amount on a matching basis will have to be contributed by the State/Urban Local Body (ULB).
(d): In terms of mutual understanding between the Ministry, States/UTs and Foreign Agencies, this Ministry is facilitating execution of Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs)/Agreements between Foreign Agencies and States/UTs for assistance under Smart Cities Mission. Presently, following MoUs/Agreements have been executed between foreign agencies and States/UTs: -

Moreover, various countries namely, Spain, Canada, Germany, China, Singapore, UK and South Korea etc. have also shown interest to participate in the development of smart Cities.
