Question : CONSTRUCTION OF STAFF QUARTERS IN NAGALAND



(a) the number of staff quarters constructed in Nagaland by the Department of Post during the last three years;

(b) whether not a single dwelling unit has been constructed in the State by the Department of Posts during the last two decades;

(c) if so, the reasons therefor;

(d) whether there is any proposal to construct staff quarters in the State particularly in Kohima during 2000-2001;

(e) if so, the details thereof; district-wise; and

(f) if not, the reasons therefor and steps being taken by the Government to cover up the backlog?

(a) Three Type-III quarters are under construction at Nagaland during the last three years.

(b) & (c) No, Sir. Dwelling units have been constructed in the State by the Department of Posts at Kohima, Jalukie and Tesemenyu.

(d) Yes, Sir. There is a proposal to construct staff quarter in the state, particularly in Kohima during 2000-2001.
