Question : SPECIAL INCENTIVES TO STUDENTS



(a) whether the Government has any proposal to add a period of six months in all undergraduate courses of all disciplines, requiring the students to help in achieving Millennium Development Goals depending on their area of study and training;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government also proposes to consider to provide special incentives to those students who opt to work under the added period of six months;

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(e) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a): No, Sir. The areas of intervention in respect of the education sector in the Millennium Development Goals do not mention any goal in the area of higher education. There is no such proposal to add a period of six months in all undergraduate courses in higher education of all disciplines.
