Question : CPSUs IN WEST BENGAL



(a) whether the Government has set up any Public Undertaking/Heavy Industry in West Bengal during the last three years; (

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) if not, the reasons therefor;

(d) the profit/losses incurred by Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) functioning in the West Bengal during the last three years; and

(e) the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Government to revive and improve the performance of loss incurring CPSUs?

MINISTER OF THE STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEAVY INDUSTRIES AND PUBLIC ENTERPRISES (SHRI SONTOSH MOHAN DEV)

(a) to (c) As per information available, no Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) has been set up in the state of West Bengal during the last three years. The decision to set up a CPSE is taken by the concerned administrative Ministry/Department in consultation with various stakeholders and with the approval of the competent authority.

(d ) The details of the CPSEs functioning in the State of West Bengal and their profit / loss (-) during the last three years are given at Annex.

(e) The Board for Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises (BRPSE) has been set up by the Government to consider and making suitable recommendations on the revival/restructuring proposals relating to the sick/loss making CPSEs submitted by the concerned administrative Ministries/Departments.
